San Diego-Part 2

In addition to the Natural History Museum, the kids really wanted to go to SeaWorld. Keira asked for 5 days straight if she could pet a dolphin!

Tyler loves sea turtles. This turtle watched Ty as Ty watched him!

This fish was huge and while he didn't move much, it looks like he is staring at Keira (which she thought was funny!).

Keira finally got to pet a dolphin! This was probably Ty's 4th time feeding the dolphins but he had just as much fun as Keira. I have to admit, I loved it too (dolphins are one of my favorite animals).

Brian and Tyler ended the day on the water slide! The temp. was getting cooler and the water was cold so I wasn't too sure how the ride would go....

But they had fun!

San Diego-Part 1

Brian booked a three day kayak fishing trip in San Diego and the kids and I tagged along and the family made it a week vacation! While the weather was much cooler than Gilbert, we had a great time and kept busy!

Tyler wanted to go to the Natural History Museum for his birthday.

Keira on a manatee!

Tyler almost fell backward on this mammoth display when I was getting ready to take this picture! I am SO glad he didn't!!!

As always...we head to the beach! This time Ty tried his hand a boggie boarding with my dad! He did pretty well given the water was cold!!!

Keira opted to build a sand castle!

We had a great time!

Happy 6th Birthday, Tyler!

Tyler is 6 and had several parties to celebrate! We were in San Diego for Ty's actual bday so we celebrated with my parents and brother with a dinosaur Oreo ice cream cake. Ty requested spaghetti for dinner & my brother came through and made VERY yummy spaghetti and meatballs!

Our good friends, the Wenk's, moved to California so we made a quick trip up to see them and their beautiful new house!

Here is Keira, Abby, Libby, and Tyler.

After lunch we had yummy cupcakes!

This year Tyler really had a hard time with his birthday being in the summer. He saw most of his class celebrate their bdays during school and in class they got to pick from the treasure chest. So, before school let out we brought in cupcakes to Ty's class and he got to pick from the treasure chest. However, his bday experience would not be complete without a party with his friends from school. Since we were in California the week before, we didn't want to come home to a party at the house so we called up Bounce U and were very happy with the event!

Being summer, a lot of school friends were not able to come but his two best friends came which made everything okay!

HAPPY 6TH BIRTHDAY, TYLER! WE LOVE YOU!

Ty's Kindergarten Graduation!

I can't believe it but Ty is off to 1st grade! Wow! For graduation, the kindergarteners put on a little performance with nursery rhyme songs. The last one spelled out kindergarten and ended with "watch out 1st grade, here we come!" Yeah, I teared up!

Ty wasn't much for singing but he smiled and seemed pretty proud of the performance (he said it was a surprise for all the mommy and daddys). So cute!

Tyler was voted the most likely to become a Marine Biologist! Pretty spot on since he has wanted to be an ocean diver since he was three. Of course, he also includes astronaut, paleontologist, and oceanographer!

Tyler & his good buddy, Ethan!

Family Visits in May

May was filled with visits from family and we loved it! Our first set of guests included Brian's sister, Brooke, and her cute baby boy, Quinn! Ty and Keira LOVE Quinn and were stuck like glue to him. While they got to be a little overly helpful, we had a good time & really enjoy watching Quinn grow and learn.

Brian's mom, Heather, and step-dad, Randy, also came but of course I was either enjoying my "me time" away from the house or we were playing. So....no photos. Oops!

Our next set of guests included Brian's Aunt Molly and Uncle Tom. They live in Wisconsin so we do not get the chance to see each other a lot. This was the first time Tom saw the kids and we all had a blast together (again not so great at taking photos!). We loved showing them our local sites & favorite restaurants! We look forward to our next visit!

Memorial Day Weekend my parents came out and we headed down to Tucson to see my mom's mom and her husband in Mt. Lemmon. Here is our 4 Generation picture! I am so excited we got this shot even if Keira wasn't interested in looking at the camera!

Flag Football Spring 2011

Ty's flag football season has come to an end! While he wasn't the best player on the team, he tried hard, really improved, and had a lot of fun (which is what we really cared about)! I like to think of Tyler as my Great Dane puppy (kind of all over the place), but he will get there! Keira on the other hand would stand near the team at half time during the team talk completely listening while most of the players weren't. Who does she remind you of?! :)

Coach Mike was a great coach and he really made our season. All he wanted was the kids to have fun and learn a new skill.

It was pretty hot the last game of the season so Ty was ready to go home! He said he would play again in the fall if he got a bigger trophy! Who does that sound like?! :)

Way to go, Ty!

Mother's Day

I had a very nice Mother's Day! While Tyler wanted me to have breakfast in bed to start "my day" off right, I said that having four people in our bed with food didn't sound relaxing to me! So, we compromised and had coffee & chocolate milk while watching 30 minutes of cartoons!

After a nice breakfast Brian made (yep...he cooked), we went to church then I got some shopping time in! Overall a great day spent with my wonderful family.

I did have to share one of Tyler's gifts. He made this card at school with help from a class aide. I wondered why Ty asked me how old I was last week. He said that he guessed wrong but I just thought a friend of his asked or something (since I didn't know why he would want to know). I also LOVE his answer for Her Job Is? Life through a 5 year old's eyes!
