Down comes our tree

The last big monsoon storm hit our area hard! It took down our big tree in the front yard! After borrowing my aunt & uncle's cutter and chainsaw, Brian was able to cut it down. So sad.

First day of school!

Higley school district changed to a modified year round school year this year. Starting early, July 27th, we do get 2 week fall, winter, and spring breaks! Tyler started 5th grade & Keira started 2nd grade!

Pictures of home

We are slowly unpacking and settling into our house. We have enjoyed catching up with some friends (more fun to be planned), swimming and putting rooms together.

Home!

We made it home!  Our year in Kansas was good. We were able to see a different part of the country, make amazing friends and grow closer as a family. While it doesn't feel like we have been gone for a year, the new stores, changes at church and boxes filling our house make us realize the time. We have one month to get this house together before school starts. Yikes!

Spring Canyon, CO

On our way from Kansas to Arizona,  we attended a week long Christian family camp in Colorado. The weather was great and we really enjoyed the lessons and activities. We hit the ground running when we get home so this became our summer vacation.  Some friends of ours from KS were able to attend too.

Berry patch

We were so excited to find a berry patch close to us!! Strawberries are in season and we were able to get a ton!! We will miss the other berries but it was fun to be able to go apple picking the the fall and berry picking in the spring!

Awana

Awana finished on Sunday. While is was our first time participating in the program, we learned a lot and it was fun to see the kids learn and memorize bible verses. They both finished their book!

Field Day

To end the school year, Bradley holds a field day for grades K-5. The 6th graders run the stations. It was really organized and each station was super fun! K-2nd went one day and 3rd-5th went another day.

Shatto Dairy Farm

Saturday was set to be a warm sunny day in between cooler rainy days so we headed out to. Dairy farm about 1 hr from us. It was a really fun experience which included a tour of the farm and product tasting.  We left with cookies and cream milk and salted carmel ice cream!

Happy Easter!

We had a wonderful Easter weekend with Brian's mom and step dad!! While the weather was not as warm as I hoped it would be, we had a great time hanging out & eating!! :)

The kids still love Easter morning with baskets and finding eggs!

This year one of the wives from Brian's class held an Easter egg hunt for the kids during the class' PT test (the soldiers have to take a run/push up/sit up test before the end of school). They made out like bandits and have a TON of candy!!
