Go Giants!

Today was Ty's first flag football game. He is on the NY Giants!!! I think Brian and I have been more excited about Ty playing than Ty was but he really had a good time playing today! I do think Ty will take after Brian and play defense! He loves to run after the kid with the ball and grab the flag! The team practices twice a week with games on Saturday morning. The games are 1 hour long. Good way to keep him busy until May!

He isn't so happy about the mouthpiece but I told him the dentist on Monday (the kids have appointments) will be SO happy to know he is wearing one!

HIKE!

I was also happy to see that Ty wasn't the only kid playing with their own flags and often watching the game on the other fields. Gotta love the attention span of a 5 year old!

Happy 3rd Birthday, Keira!

Keira is 3! We can't believe it! Where does the time go? We celebrated Keira's birthday in San Diego during our Spring Break visit.

She wanted a princess theme, of course!

Yummy ice cream cake!

Keira LOVES lip gloss so her princess lip gloss phone was a real hit!

She used all the lip gloss up in a day! :)

Spring Break in San Diego

For Spring Break we went to San Diego for a couple of days to see my family. Normally we visit one of the main attractions like Sea World or LEGOLAND but this trip we decided to play at the beach every day. The kids loved it!

The water was pretty cold but the kids went in anyway! To be a kid again!!!

Keira loved to make sandcastles! She actually got pretty good at doing it all by herself!
Tyler focused on clamming! You know the small little clam shells you find when the tide comes in?! He collected about 50 in his bucket! Ty wasn't too happy to leave them at the beach but we found some seashells to take home instead.
Keira made sure Papa went too!

We haven't visited Old Town San Diego in awhile so we headed there for lunch one day. Very pretty area!

Kids thought riding in a wagon was pretty cool!

Ouch!

The school nurse called me Wednesday to say that Tyler had been in her office icing his eye but after 20 he felt okay to go back to class. I, of course, think of the worse but the nurse said Tyler was running in the classroom, fell and hit his eye on a desk. I thought it was odd Tyler was running in the classroom but I waited to hear what his teacher said at pick up.

Tyler's teacher said Ty was running and tripped over a jacket that was on the ground. His teacher said they had a "talk" about no running in the classroom (again...still questioning why he was running, since he knows better!).

After we got home and put ice on his eye, I asked Tyler why he was running. Ty said Ms. Chasteen told the kids to get their markers for a project so several boys took off to get the treasured blue marker and Ty ran with them. Ty tripped over another kid's jacket that was on the ground and hit the table.

Luckily he hit just right. His eye is okay just a lot of swelling and a BIG black eye! He gets to wear a Spider-Man Band-Aid so he thinks that is cool! Poor Guy!!

Weekend Staycation

This past weekend we did a Staycation up by Lake Pleasant. The resort was beautiful and we had a lot of fun! The weather was perfect, around 80 degrees so we took advantage of it!

The water slide! Tyler LOVED the slide! Brian had a lot of fun on it too!!!

I told Tyler to wave at me when he got to the top so I could get a picture but he never did. I think he was too excited!

Keira wasn't tall enough to go down the slide but she was okay swimming around and laying out in the sun! The water was still pretty chilly! I was surprised they went in at all! To be a kid again!!!

Keira wasn't too happy to have her picture taken but she was pretending to be a mermaid and was singing. It was so cute!

The desert landscape was so pretty. The kids and I had fun looking at all the different types of cactus and trees.

We ended Saturday night with a marshmallow roast! Pretty cool!
Sunday we went to the Wildlife World Zoo since we were in the area...

Wildlife World Zoo & Aquarium

Sunday we visited the Wildlife World Zoo & Aquarium (www.wildlifeworld.com). We have been there a couple of times before but it has been awhile. They have really done a lot of work and have added the aquarium section to the zoo which increases Tyler's interest!

The biggest lobster I have ever seen!

Tyler's favorite part of the trip was the shark tank!

The sun was in their eyes but with the flamingos in the background I had to take a picture!

I am normally the one behind the camera so this is for all of you who ask "Where are you, Amy?"

Another favorite for the kids...feeding the giraffes! The best thing about this zoo is that the animals are so close!

Keira loved the petting zoo!! She wanted to take a goat home!
