We participated in Wreaths Across America last weekend at the Fort Leavenworth National Cemetery. It was such an amazing experience to place wreaths on the headstones to honor the Soldiers and their families for their service and sacrifice!!!

Snow!
It snowed last night and it is suppose to snow most of today. The kids and I are fighting colds but I hope to get out and build a snowman!!
Bowling
Over the Thanksgiving break we went to our post bowling alley! The kids had a lot of fun and I was excited to find another indoor option during the winter months in Kansas!

First Snow
The first snow fall was November 15th. We were suppose to get up to 5 inches but the snow only gave us a total of one inch or so and was melted by the next day. The kids had a lot of fun and the dogs were not sure what was happening!

Keira loved to shovel the snow...
Then decided to sled instead.

Glasses for Keira
Keira has wanted glasses for over a year now. She doesn't have an issue seeing things when we are out or when reading. However, after another failed eye test at school I took her back into the doctor. This time they discovered each eye has an astigmatism which can cause blurriness sometimes. This explains why sometimes the board is clear and other times it is not. She picked out some cute purples glasses and has to wear them in class during learning/board time.
Happy Halloween
We had a really fun Halloween this year. Our neighbors got together for dinner and a group candy handout. While the weather was really chilly, everyone had a great time!!!
Tyler as Boba Fett and Brian as a Jedi
Keira and her friend, Keira, decided to be Thing 1 and Thing 2. They are in the same class so it was super cute!!!

Cheer & Football
Our fall sports season came to an end Wednesday.
Keira enjoyed cheer and I loved watching her; however, this was the first season her coaches coached cheer and they didn't learn too many cheers so she got bored pretty quickly!
Brian was the assistant coach for Tyler's flag football team. The team did well and Tyler LOVED playing this season. He did amazing! He is VERY fast, read the plays and scored touchdowns! So cool to see that switch flip!

The Red Barn Farm
Brian's mom, Heather, came into town this weekend for a visit. Saturday was a beautiful day and we were able to visit the Red Barn Farm in a neighboring town. Some of our neighbors came with us. It was a lot of fun.
Keira, Tyler and Joey loved the pigs!

Fall sports have begun
Tyler decided to play flag football with his friends Joey and Grant. Brian is assistant coach.
Keira is a cheerleader and will cheer for the 3rd/4th grade teams. She only cheers for ty's team twice so that's a bummer.
Our fire pit
We finally got our fire pit!! This is one of the most popular items the inmates make. It says "The Dudley Family The Great Kansas Adventure of 2014." We get together almost every weekend with our neighbor's for smores. Gonna miss that.
Keira's new bike
The post (Ft. Leavenworth as a whole) had a yard sale last weekend and we sold Keira's "little bike." She was very concerned we would not replace it but we found a new one the same day. This one has hand brakes!!!

Holy Field Winery
The first piece of mail we received at our house was a newsletter from Holy-Field Winery. They offer several events in the summer and fall, the most exciting one for me was picking the grapes as a harvester. Due to the popularity of the event, we were added to the waiting list but a party cancelled so we were able to go today! It was so much fun and the kids loved it. Tyler ate as many grapes as he put in the buckets. Ty and Keira ran the full buckets back to the truck so many times the workers knew their names at the end of picking. They fed us a great lunch and we were able to see the cellar where they make the wine!
Cider Hill Orchard
There is a beautiful apple orchard about 30 minutes from us. They have many acres of different kinds of apples. They sell apple donuts, cider, butter, pies and more. The kids loved picking apples and tasking the donuts. We bought two apples pies to take home!
