Mother's Day

I had a very nice Mother's Day! While Tyler wanted me to have breakfast in bed to start "my day" off right, I said that having four people in our bed with food didn't sound relaxing to me! So, we compromised and had coffee & chocolate milk while watching 30 minutes of cartoons!

After a nice breakfast Brian made (yep...he cooked), we went to church then I got some shopping time in! Overall a great day spent with my wonderful family.

I did have to share one of Tyler's gifts. He made this card at school with help from a class aide. I wondered why Ty asked me how old I was last week. He said that he guessed wrong but I just thought a friend of his asked or something (since I didn't know why he would want to know). I also LOVE his answer for Her Job Is? Life through a 5 year old's eyes!

It's 99 degress, what do you want to do?!

GO SWIMMING!!!!!

While the pool water temp was around 72 degrees, and I think that is still TOO cold...Brian and the kids enjoyed the cool off today!

Keira was pretty attached to Brian but let him throw her in the air. She loves the water and hopefully after this summer she will be swimming alone!

Tyler also enjoys being thrown in the water!

It is nice to see Tyler was able to swim in the deep water without his swim vest. It will take a couple of times in the pool to get all his confidence and stamina back but he did really well!

Easter 2011

We had a fun Easter! Brian was home this year which was nice! He had a fun time coloring the eggs with Tyler (he picked dinosaur decorations) and I helped Keira (she picked glitter).

The dinosaurs took a lot of time to create!

The kids left their Easter baskets out for the Easter Bunny along with a note Tyler wrote & some baby carrots (just in case the bunny was small or needed to pack them away for later...at least that is what Tyler said!).

Easter Egg Hunt!

Keira won! Tyler wasn't too happy about that!!

We went to our annual family Easter gathering at Aunt Sherri's house. Tyler won that Easter Egg hunt! :)

Happy Earth Day!

Tyler's school celebrated Earth Day on Tuesday since they are off today. This toothbrush was in his bag of goodies. We really try to do our best to reduce, recycle and reuse at the house so when we saw this toothbrush that was made out of recycled yogurt cups we thought that was pretty cool (we eat a lot of yogurt and recycle the cups!). Ty couldn't belive that a yogurt cup could be turned into a toothbrush. Pretty neat!

A song Tyler came home singing (there was a copy of it in his goodie bag):

Let Me Help (sung to the tune of Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star)

Reduce, recycle and reuse,

Be careful with the things you choose.

Don't leave lights and water on,

Pick up litter when you're done.

Keep the air and water clean,

Help our earth stay strong and green!

Lip Gloss

This is a daily occurrence when we are waiting for Tyler to get out of school. She normally puts too much on and needs a wipe to "do over" which frustrates me to all end! Note the pink dress-up dress! Yes, that is another daily task...which dress-up dress to wear!?! She is a girly girl but is able to still play hard with the boys! Love it!

Playtime

Tyler has always had an amazing imagination and Keira would follow along a step behind him. However, lately Keira is branching out and really getting into her baby dolls and dress up. I think it is so funny when Keira has her baby in a carrier and tells me to be quite because baby is asleep and I am being too loud! Sleeping Beauty, Princess Aurora! Keira loves this dress and yesterday she found slippers and a crown to match.
Keira is in love with Tangled, the new Disney movie about Rapunzel. She found this long, blond hair at the Dollar Store so she can have long hair like Rapunzel! So cute!Being a princess is hard work!

Tyler on the other hand, would like to be a pirate or a sea diver. This is what I walked into the other day when I hear Keria and him laughing in his room. When I asked what they were doing Tyler said they were on a boat and were saving the animals. I also found out that the floor was lava and I standing in it! :)

Rainy Day

Since we have already hit 100 degrees this year, a cool rainy day was much appreciated! It only lasted a day but we will take it!
The kids loved catching the rain even though the rain drops were cold! They didn't seem to mind!
Building pools & mountains for small land and water animals! Both kids have an amazing imagination!
